All the glamour, glitz, and glitter that epitomizes Las Vegas is concentrated along the legendary thoroughfare known simply as the Strip. This 4-mile (6-km) segment of the southern section of Las Vegas Boulevard, sufficiently far from Downtown to be outside the city’s official limits, is the epicenter of the global entertainment industry, and home to several of the largest hotels and casinos on the planet. The Strip is a master of reinvention, constantly changing, surprising, and embracing new ways to impress visitors.

Big-name casinos have showpiece malls – most spectacularly, Caesars Palace has The Forum Shops  – but there are also stand-alone malls like Fashion Show and The Shops at Crystals at CityCenter.

2-The Strip by Night

Las Vegas truly comes to life after dark. Whether you’re walking the Strip or soaring above it in a helicopter, that’s when you will see the Fountains of Bellagio and the Mirage Volcano at their most spectacular.

Gambling in vegas

Gambling is still the bedrock on which Las Vegas rests. Whether you’re hoping to beat the bank at baccarat or predict the roulette wheel, losing can be surprisingly enjoyable.

4- Headliners

Since the unveiling of the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas has resumed its role as the world’s entertainment capital. Regular headliners along the Strip include Celine Dion, Elton John, and Britney Spears

5-Fine Dining

The competition between the major casinos to persuade the world’s best chefs to open Las Vegas restaurants has turned the city into a foodie’s dream. Current highlights are Julian Serrano, Bouchon Bistro, Nobu, and Scarpetta.

6 -Themed Architecture

With the Strip’s inventive architecture, you can admire the world’s great cities, from Paris to New York via Venice, or even time travel to ancient Rome or Egypt.

Every casino-hotel along the Strip holds at least one theater, each hosting long-running shows that range from Broadway Tony-award winning musical Jersey Boys via magicians like Penn & Teller to the postmodern antics of the all-conquering Cirque du Soleil and the one-of-a-kind Blue Man Group.

While cheap-and cheerful buffets still abound, upscale places like Bellagio (see pp14– 15) and Wynn Las Vegas now offer irresistible “gourmet” options, piled with sushi, and other culinary treats.

9-Thrill Rides

A city of thrills of course comes up trumps in thrill rides. The scariest is atop Stratosphere Tower; others include the Big Apple Coaster at New York-New York (below) and the Adventuredome at Circus Circus.

Casinos vie to build ever more extraordinary clubs. Leading lights include MARQUEE, TAO Night club, and Encore Beach Club.
